James L. Allhands Essay Competition

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must be a full-time student who has attained a four- or five-year senior-level standing in a four-year ABET or ACCE-accredited (or candidate status) university construction or construction-related engineering program. Essay responding to a specific question each year is required.

Apply directly through Associated General Contractors (AGC) Education and Research Foundation's official application — an essay is part of the application. Review the eligibility requirements above first, and give yourself time before the November 15, 2026 deadline.
