The Carson Scholars Fund awards $1,000 college scholarships to students in grades 4-11 who combine top academic performance with a record of humanitarian service. Winners also receive a medal, a certificate, and recognition at a regional awards banquet, and their schools receive a trophy or nameplate. Nominations open each October, with student applications due the following January.

Eligibility Requirements

Students in grades 4 through 11 at accredited U.S. schools may compete after being nominated by an educator, with one nominee allowed per school. Applicants need a GPA of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale and must show community service that goes beyond what their school requires. The application includes a personal essay, a report card, and a teacher recommendation.
